"Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble.
Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the
darkness around you will be as bright as noon."
Isaiah 58:10 (NLT)

Our Mission

It's simple. We go to those most in need and help them build sustainable, supportive farming businesses. South Sudan is filled with people living in constant hunger and constant danger. Building a farm in South Sudan goes a
long way to shining a light in the darkness. Just a few ways it does that are;
When the farm grows, jobs are created and people are fed.
When people have purpose and hunger is held at bay violence is diminished. When the truth underpins it all, lives are changed and God is glorified.

It is our hope and our prayer that peace will come to the people of South Sudan.

How you can help

Pray for us
Physical safety is critical. Please pray for everyone at the farm that God would continue to watch over and protect them as the violence is unpredictable and widespread.

New land—we are entering our third year of searching for land for a much needed relocation. Pray that we will meet the right people and find right location.

A brief history of South Sudan

South Sudan is Africa’s 54th country and the planets 193rd. It is the youngest country, having gained independence on 9 July 2011. occupying more than 640,000 sq km, South Sudan is larger than France, but has a population of a little less than 12 million people. Its capital is Juba.

South Sudan is comprised of ten states: Western Bahr el Ghazal, Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Warrap, Lakes, Unity, Upper Nile, Jonglei, Western Equatoria, Central Equatoria, and Eastern Equatoria. The major towns are: Juba, Wau and Malakal.

While the history of South Sudan is quite brief, beginning in July of 2011, its history is intertwined with the Republic of Sudan, and goes back millenia. A good reference point is the 25th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt. Their history dates back to the 7th century BC, and was also known as the Kushite Empire or the Nubian dynasty. This empire was comprised of many of the peoples that now occupy South Sudan. In Biblical times, Sudan (North and South) was known as Kush, the areas now occupied by the two Sudans. Many kingdoms that grew along the Nile in the northern parts of Sudan, such as the Kingdom of Nubia, the Kingdom of Meroe, and the Kingdom of Alodia. The history of these kingdoms dates back at least to 500 BC.

These kingdoms existed in one form or another throughout the centuries until the Kingdom of Alodia was defeated in 1504 by Islamist forces.
